I've said it before Luke - these podcasts are a real highlight for me - so beautifully articulated. I too had the 'black tip experience', the most powerful of which was last October when a single individual just hung around with/by me for about 20 minutes early one morning over some reef. It swam in repeatedly to within a couple of meters and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, I didn't want it to end. Thank you for Ocean Rising and all you do.
Sharks are getting the same kind of stereotyping as evil and dangerous as wolves have received over the centuries. It nearly wiped out wolves, and ignorance still endangers them. Apex predators such as these are scapegoats for people’s fears and anxieties; they are not based on facts. Human beings are the ultimate apex predator across the globe.
A beautiful piece. Love the way you produce material that is both educational and deeply moving at the same time.
Thanks so much for the kind words. I’m So glad you’re appreciating my approach!
