Like many children, I loved the idea of space exploration. It now feels like a polluting distraction. Whilst I fully embrace that satellites have significant utility, I am less convinced about human science conducted in low gravity. I am far more interested in what the ocean holds, what incredible chemicals benthic species produce at depth as defenses and how the genomes could help us create new medicines. Antimicrobial resistance kills millions every year and we're in desperate need of solutions. Not sure we will find these on the moon or mars but I bet my medical license the ocean holds solutions.
I love your posts. I am 72 yo. and raising my 17 yo son. I work as a substitute teacher to make ends meet. I can't afford subscriptions. I'm sorry.
Mars won't save us , healthy Oceans will
