It absolutely is. But for those who aren’t inclined or don’t have the energy to look beyond their own lives, protecting ourselves in turns means that everything else will in turn be safe. As I say in the pod “a world that’s safe for humans is a world where ecosystems can thrive” (including the polar bears). I hope you enjoyed listening, thanks for joining the conversation.

Luke, this is perfect. It is a narrative that, as a healthcare professional, I have been presenting for years but no where nearly as well. I saw what one virus, covid, did to our healthcare system and with all that is to come (see Lancet Countdown), we won't be able to keep people healthy. But we need our health to mitigate, adapt and fight. Our health is everything and we are now fighting for our lives.

I am now off to do my regular Saturday morning parkrun dressed as a dolphin. I do it so people ask me 'why' and I can then explain in very basic terms that every other breath we take comes from the Ocean and we must never forget about the Ocean regardless what we are doing. It also makes people smile and so even if no one remembers the reason, it is worth it.

You make a very strong point, Luke. We need to make it personal. And it is overwhelming indeed. But we still need to care about the polar bears, don’t we! It’s about “saving ourselves” and also about “protecting ourselves” and those creatures we share the Planet with.

I love it! I get it. The wonders of human brain, eh? It's like when something happens to you or in front of your eyes, it's still not on you to act, you just call 999 or whatever emergencies no there is in that country. We've been told not to interfere so that we can protect ourselves. Crazy to say to someone now that they need to intervene for something they don't even see or think is true or even not have the training or tools to do so.

Is really hard. :)

It's a wonderful podcast idea.

Eventually, everything resonates when we act like a preacher.

That is our original storyline rooted voice we tend to listen...

You must've seen a lot. And still talk human. :)
